Edward C. Page FBA ist seit 2001 Sidney and Beatrice Webb Professor of Public Policy an der London School of Economics and Political Science. Er hat langjährige Forschungs-und Lehrerfahrung in den vergleichenden Verwaltungswissenschaften und der Policy-Analyse. Er studierte am Polytechnikum in Kingston (Surrey) und an der Universität Strathclyde, wo er 1983 auch promovierte. Von 1981 bis 2001 war er Lehrbeauftragter an der Universität Hull.  Er war Leiter der UK-ESRC „Future Governance”-Programme (1999-2003) und hat als Mitherausgeber der wissenschaftlichen Zeitschriften Political Studies, The European Journal of Political Research und The Journal of Public Policy gedient. Zentrale Buchveröffentlichungen sind unter anderem “Political Authority and Bureaucratic Power” (1985/1992), “Localism and Centralism in Europe” (1992); “Governing by Numbers: Delegated Legislation and Everyday Policy Making” (2001), “Policy Bureaucracy.  Government with a Cast of Thousands” (2005), “Policy without Politicians.  Bureaucratic Influence in Comparative Perspective” (2012) und “The Oxford Handbook of the Classics of Public Policy and Administration” (2015).
