Zusammenfassung

Im Zentrum dieses Artikels steht das Problem der Unübersichtlichkeit hinsichtlich der Erklärungsansätze für Rechtsextremismus. Diesbezüglich wird nach dem Potenzial von Systematisierungen gefragt. Ausgehend von einem allgemeinen Rechtsextremismusbegriff werden verschiedene Systematisierungsweisen von Erklärungsansätzen in der deutschsprachigen Forschung herausgearbeitet und miteinander verglichen. Im Ergebnis erweisen sich alle Systematisierungsweisen als potenziell problematisch, u. a. weil sie dazu neigen, ‚integrative Ansätze‘ nicht angemessen darstellen zu können. Eben diese ‚Integration‘ unterschiedlicher Ansätze erscheint jedoch für die weitere Theorieentwicklung essenziell.

Explanations of right-wing extremism and their systematization: a study on the state of the art of theorizing right-wing extremism

Summary

The focus of this article is the problem of keeping track of attempts to explaining right-wing extremism. In this context, the potential of systematizations is examined. Based on a general concept of right-wing extremism, different ways of systematizing different approaches in German-speaking research are worked out and compared with each other. As a result, all systematization methods prove to be potentially problematic, since they tend not to adequately represent ‚integrative approaches‘. However, it is precisely this ‚integration‘ of different approaches that appears essential for further theory development.
