Der Beitrag diskutiert anhand eines ethnografischen Forschungsprojekts Potenziale und Herausforderungen re-konstruktiver Ungleichheitsforschung. Das zugrundeliegende Projekt befasst sich aus praxistheoretischer Perspektive mit der Frage, wie ethnisch codierte Bildungsungleichheit reproduziert wird. Um von situierten Unterscheidungspraktiken auf einen Ungleichheitszusammenhang schließen zu können, ist das Projekt als längsschnittliche Ethnografie angelegt. Der Beitrag zeichnet sowohl die methodologische Herausforderung des Gegenstands Unterscheidungspraktiken nach, als auch die Erarbeitung des Konzepts von ethnizitätsrelevanten Unterscheidungspraxen. Das Erkenntnispotenzial dieses Zugangs wird über die Analyse eines Datenbasierten Porträts verdeutlicht.

Ethnicity-relevant pedagogical practices of differentiation in educational organizations. Re-constructing the production of inequality in a society shaped by migration as purpose of a longitudinal ethnography

Abstract

In this article, we discuss potentials and challenges of re-constructive inequality research on the basis of a concrete ethnographic research project. In a praxeological perspective, the project deals with the question of how educational inequalities are being reproduced. Designed as a longitudinal ethnography, the project aims at the interrelation of situated practices of differentiation and inequality. The research subject practices of differentiation are outlined as a specific methodological challenge. Thus, the development of the concept of ethnicityrelevant practices of differentiation is traced in this article. The potential of this approach is illustrated within the analysis of a data-based portrait.
