Der Artikel Die Jugend ohne Jugend – Die Konstruktion der Jugendphase im Kontext ihres sozialen Ortes widmet sich der Geschichte der Jugend als Geschlechter- und als Klassengeschichte. In Anlehnung an Siegfried Bernfeld
und Liesbeth Franzen-Hellersberg werden die klassen- und geschlechtsspezifischen Beschränkungen und Eigenarten der Jugendphase beschrieben, die von diesen AutorInnen zu Beginn des letzten Jahrhunderts erforscht wurden.
In diesem Artikel wird in der Auseinandersetzung mit der modernisierungstheoretischen Debatte argumentiert, dass die Analysen von einer Ungleichheit der Jugendphase nach wie vor Aktualität besitzen. Diese historische Kontinuität
wird vor dem Hintergrund einer eigenen qualitativen Forschung zu den Lebenslagen und Lebensperspektiven junger Mütter beleuchtet.
Youth without youthfulness – Constructing Adolescence in the context of social space
The article Youth without youthfulness – Constructing adolescence in the context of social space devotes itself to the history of youth as the history of gender and class. Modelled after Siegfried Bernfeld and Liesbeth Franzen-Hellersberg, the class- and gender specific restrictions
and uniqueness of the youth phase will be described, as they were explored by the authors during the beginning of the last century. This article closely evaluates the discourses regarding the theory of modernisation and argues that the analysis of inequality of
the youth phase is still relevant. This historical continuity is examined within the context of a personal qualitative research project concerning the circumstances and life perspectives of young mothers.
