Der Artikel beschreibt die Konsequenzen der Mediatisierung der szenezentralen Praktik der Musikrecherche in der Indie-Szene. Dabei wird die These verfolgt und am Beispiel musikalischer ‚Mash-Ups‘ nachgezeichnet, dass mit grenzübergreifenden, transnationalen Stilorientierungen kulturelle Grenzen und Grenzziehungen sukzessive diffuser werden. So werden übergreifende Gruppenzusammenhänge brüchig und bringen schnelllebige, zumindest auf gewisse Zeit stabilisierte „glokale“ Formen von Szenekultur hervor.

Mediatization of a Practice in a Scene – Indie as a Hybrid of Transnational and Local Contexts

Abstract

This article describes the consequences of the mediatization of the important practice of searching for music in the independent scene. Using the example of musical mash-ups we try to develop the thesis that cultural boundaries become more and more diffuse with transnational stylistic orientations. Therefore comprehensive group cohesions become fragile and evoke fast-moving, glocal forms of scene culture that are stabilized at least short term.
